Alliance Islamic Bank (AIS) became a new Islamic Banking Subsidiary of ABMB in April 2008. This new entity helmed by Tuan Haji Yahya Ibrahim is following the invitation by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) for all commercial banks to set up an Islamic Banking Subsidiary.

Option to provide Islamic Banking Windows for all Financial Institutions, Alliance Bank, formerly known as Multi-Purpose bank, takes immediate participation with 2 branches offering 2 deposit products i.e. Savings & GIA.

The products were launched nationwide to all ABMB branches.

Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) invited all commercial banks to set up an Islamic Banking Subsidiary

Alliance Islamic Bank, (AIS) a fully-owned subsidiary of Alliance Bank. Products and services were distributed through the existing ABMB branch network, in addition, 2 Islamic Banking Centres (IBC) were set up in the Capital Square and Ampang Point branches.

To date, there are 8 Islamic Banking Centres within the ABMB branch network located in Capital Square, Ampang Point, CMY, Kota Damansara, Melaka, Kota Kinabalu, Penang and Johor Bahru.
