Appointed to the Board of Alliance Bank on 21 April 2006. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics, Hons) degree from Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland as well as a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. With more than 34 years of experience in senior managerial capacities both in Malaysia and abroad, Encik Megat has served with Golden Hope Plantations Berhad as Group Director-Finance, Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad as General Manager-Investment, Bank Simpanan Nasional as Finance Manager and the Accountant-General's Department as Treasury Accountant. He currently sits on the Boards of Alliance Financial Group Berhad (formerly known as Malaysian Plantations Berhad), Alliance Investment Bank, Alliance Investment Management Berhad (formerly known as Alliance Unit Trust Management Berhad), MNRB Holdings Berhad and Pernec Corporation Berhad.

Prior to his present appointment, Tuan Haji Yahya was the Group Head for Islamic Banking at Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (ABMB) and led the project team that was instrumental in the formation of Alliance Islamic Bank. During his 14-year tenure with ABMB, he has held various positions including heading the then Multi-Purpose Unit Trust Berhad and Multi-Purpose Finance Berhad. Prior to joining Alliance Bank, he has served in the property development and merchant banking sectors.

Tuan Haji Yahya has a holistic appreciation of banking operations. He is also well-versed on the Malaysian property scene as a result of previous stints prior to joining the Bank. He possesses a Master in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, USA.

Encik Zakaria bin Abdul Hamid was appointed to the Board of Alliance Islamic Bank Berhad on 28 August 2007 and he has over 33 years of experience in banking, corporate finance and advisory services. He is also a director of Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad and Alliance Investment Bank Berhad. Encik Zakaria has held senior positions in various organizations including Maybank Berhad, Bumiputra Merchant Bankers Bhd, Technology Resources Industries Bhd, Malaysia Helicopters Services Bhd, Natwide Group of Companies and KYM Holdings Bhd. Encik Zakaria possesses a Bachelor of Economics degree from University of Malaya and is a qualified Certified Financial Planner and is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia.

Appointed as the Alliance Bank Group Head of Consumer Banking on 20 September 2005, Ms Liew is responsible for setting the strategic direction, strategy development and implementation of retail banking business plans as well as delivery on performance targets. Her retail banking portfolio includes Mortgages, Hire Purchase, Credit Cards and personal Loans, Share Margin Financing and other Secured Loans, Direct Sales, Wealth Management as well as Branch Banking. She also oversees the Group Decision Science and Group Corporate Branding portfolios. Ms Liew possesses a Masters in Science in International Marketing (UK) and is an accredited Certified Financial Planner (CFP, USA).
